On 30 June, I watched my first opera ever. I was a little skeptical at first but this was a free event so I was willing to take the chance.

The Royal Opera House in London has put together free screenings of ballet and opera in an open-air atmosphere. I watched "La Traviata" from Canary Wharf. It was incredible! I really did not think I would enjoy opera but now that I've had a great experience, I'm definitely excited to watch another opera in the very near future.

There is more information below about the Royal Opera House screenings from the Visit London website. The next opera will be "The Barber of Seville" on 15 July...don't miss it

"The BP Big Screens in London are part of a nationwide event, which will see 42 alfresco opera and ballet screenings taking place at 20 venues across the UK.

With huge screens in Trafalgar Square, Canary Wharf and Walthamstow Town Square, get there early for the best seats in the house and remember to dress appropriately for the weather!"
