My husband and I were on our way to Highbury, Islington to picnic with some friends. We always have the issue of deciding whether to take the tube or the bus. This time, we decided to take the bus (from Marylebone).
In the latter part of the ride, we weren't moving at all. There was traffic even worse than normal. So we decided to get out of the bus at King's Cross St. Pancras Station.
It turns out there was a tube accident. And honestly, I couldn't find any information about the incident at all. Well, other than the fact that my iPhone app (which I believe is linked to the TFL website) stated there was a person under the train. Is this something that happens often in England? And is the information about the incidents not easily accessible? This is definitely frustrating!
Anyways, there were many road closures since a helicopter had landed right in front of the station. This explained the horrible traffic earlier.

"Unfortunately I find that information is sometimes lacking from TFL towards it's passengers. I do find that drivers inform passengers wherever possible about the reason for delays and how long those delays will last when on the tube or on a train, but I wouldn't necessarily expect a bus driver to have information to hand about delays on the roads. I would imagine that they know as much as any other driver on the road. Not perfect, but difficult to see how the situation could be improved. It must have been a serious accident for the air ambulance to disrupt the area like that, I hope no one was hurt too badly!"
