Emily's travel journal - Margaret River, Western Australia. 19/Dec/08

Kangaroos are as common as rabbits in Margaret River, they bounce around grazing in the fields. Kangaroo steaks can be bought in supermarkets and make very tasty dinner.

Abalone is also a local delicacy, an oyster like shell fish that attach itself to surfaces. Its flesh is meaty like scallop and chewy like octopus. Due to its delicate flavour and its rarity, they can sell for thousands of dollars per kg in the oriental countries.
