2 boys were eating some kind of papaya looking fruit, the inside was white and you have to spit out stones as you eat it. They offered me half of it as I looked on curiously. The fruit was deliciously sweet and fresh tasting. Their father then explained that this was a cacao fruit, that the stones can be made into chocolate when dried, roasted and processed.
It tasted nothing like chocolate for sure! My friend told the boys I was from London and they enthusiastically offered to trek some 10 or 20 miles to get more cacao fruits so I can take them home with me... the sweetest boys I've ever met, if only I didn't have to leave so soon (and if only immigration would allow it) I'd have cacao fruit to show by now!
