It's very easy to discredit the writings of Karl Marx, of course. Everyone does it apart from unreconstructed Marxists. (I'd like, at this point, to declare myself as an unreconstructed Marxist! Having said that I am obliged to say that there is, in my reading of Marx, precisely nothing in Marx's work that justifies what happened in Russia in 1917, or any of the so-called 'communist' countries afterwards.
